Summary

Who Is? The British Caribbean Cultural and Biographical Directory

This series creates accessible cultural history that uncovers and share hidden histories that are vital to understanding of the Caribbean British connection.

The researched biographies are filed in category areas and can be searched by individual names or subject tags.

Classroom Help & Learning

There are three levels of information available to stimulate classroom discussions and activity:

  • KS2 - A short introduction to the individual.
  • KS3 - A wider examination into the background and achievements of the individual, building on KS2.
  • KS4 - A detailed biography of the individual, with links and subject tags for further personal research.

There will also be audio files, additional graphics and animations added to the project in the upcoming development stages.

How to Support Us (& Information for Funders)

We rely on funding, ticket sales and support to be able to keep making quality work, offer participatory and training opportunities to young people, and to create opportunities for emerging artists through workshops, bursaries, mentoring and platforms for new work.

Who Is Series was initially developed through an arts grants from Arts Council England, and supported by mentoring from Professor Sir Godfrey Palmer, and Heart of Glass.

We thank all the individuals and organisations that have supported us in the past, and welcome new supporters to join us in the development of the future stages of this project.

You can help us to develop this resource by a donation and/or a legacy gift. Your donation enables us to continue to research, develop, and share hidden histories that are vital to understanding of the Caribbean British connection.

Your money will go towards further research and development of this project and its schools’ outreach plan.
