• Asquith Xavier initially worked on the railways as a porter and a guard at Marylebone Station, London.
• Asquith Xavier applied for a new job as a guard at Euston Station, London but was denied the position because of his skin colour, despite his experience and skills.
• Asquith Xavier fought against the employment discrimination and won the right to work in the job position he had applied for.
• Asquith Xavier has been honoured for his legal and political fight for civil rights and employment equality in Britain.
