- Jocelyn Barrow trained to be teacher and worked in schools in the East of London.
- Barrow worked for equality in society, especially in education.
- Barrow initiated the introduction of a multi-cultural eduction in the British education system.
- Barrow worked in broadcasting and was also a UK ambassador in European Union.
- Barrow was granted multiple honours for her influence and leadership in British civil rights campaigns, education and broadcasting.
